Ohio Man Receives $500,000 Settlement In Spinal Cord Injury During Car Accident

Posted in: by Adrienne Hines

An Ohio man in his 40s was involved in a car accident and sustained a rare condition from a lesion to his spinal cord. Fortunately, this condition did not cause paraplegia. Over the course of a few years, the man was represented by another law firm. He was offered a very small settlement of only $5,000. Unhappy with the amount for this life-changing condition, he took his case to the experienced Sandusky attorneys at Kademenos, Wisehart, Hines, Dolyk & Wright Co. LPA

Sandusky attorney Adrienne Hines immediately set up a meeting between her client and two specialized neurologists in the area for evaluation of his condition. After examination, Hines was able to get him awarded for loss of use of his right hand. His injury caused weakness on one side of his body and contracture to the other. His right hand was completely unusable while his left foot had lost feeling in it but was somewhat usable. Hines went to the Workers’ Compensation Bureau where she argued the condition of his left foot, eventually awarding him statutory lifetime benefits.

Hines was able to get a substantial settlement amount close to $500,000 for her client in comparison to the $5,000 he was originally offered. To this day, our client is able to continue working and is driving a modified vehicle, now that he has received a successful settlement.
